WEST POT BEATS HAPPY VALLEY 52-7 AS THE RED REVOLUTION MARCHES ON! Click here for pictures.
In its first proper home match of the fall, West Potomac hosted Happy Valley on a humid day at Accokeek Park. A sideline packed with club loyalists were treated to a first half offensive display as West Pot got out of the gates quickly. John's solid play at wing and fantastic support earned him two trys as well as Man of the Match honors. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT BLANKS THE WASHINGTON RENEGADES 39-0!
West Potomac played their only match inside the Beltway against fellow D.C. ruggers, the Renegades. Play was strong across the club, but while The Red Jacket went to a West Pot newcomer last week this week it was taken home (for the first time) by a wiley vet. Grant earned Man of the Match honors by capping off a solid performance with a try at the closing whistle. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT OPENS ITS SEASON WITH A 55-5 ROAD VICTORY!
After getting rained out last week, West Pot came out of the gates strong and rolled in their season opener. When the dust had cleared, the good guys had scored nine trys and newcomer Michael Lilly earned Man of the Match honors with outstanding play at scrumhalf. For a full match report click here.

here's some older news from fall 2007...
NOT EVEN WEST POT CAN STOP WEST POT! YOUNG BOYS WIN OB/YB CLASSIC.
For a man who was not there to witness with his own eyes, the initial reports on Saturday were confusing. Frightening even. As I received scattered updates and broken communications, each became a piece in a surreal jigsaw puzzle that -- when put together -- told an grand story of battle, featuring heroes and villains cast in mythic proportions! Perhaps it's fitting that Western culture's first great tale of heroism is being once again told -- this time using the modern trappings of 3-D IMAX -- for, like that legend, the events of Saturday are larger than life. Click here for an epic match report.
WEST POT WINS 2007 PRU CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
West Pot finished off a perfect 9-0 season, defeating Western Suburbs 26-12 and winning the PRU DIII Championship for the first time since 2000. "Alabama" Sam scored two trys and earned Man of the Match Honors with MJ and Ben each adding a try and Bible going 3 from 4 on conversions. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT DEFEATS RAPPAHANNOCK 36-27 TO ADVANCE TO PRU FINALS
The two highest scoring teams in the PRU squared off in round one of the playoffs. When the dust settled, West Potomac found itself on top of a 36-27 decision and Bible wearing the Red Jacket. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT WRAPS UP AN UNDEFEATED REGULAR SEASON WITH A 21-0 WIN
West Pot continued its unbeaten streak and is the first seed going into the PRU playoffs after beating North Bay 21-0 with Sunshine earning the Red Jacket (and pants). For a full match report click here.
WEST POT WINS 29-12 TO SECURE A PLAYOFF BERTH
West Pot traveled up to Penn State and secured a spot in the PRU playoffs with a 29-12 win over Happy Valley. Jesse Davis wore the new and improved red jacket for his play at scrum half. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT COMES FROM BEHIND TO WIN, 29-19
The month of October kicked off with some August-like heat and some great rugby as West Pot welcomed PRU newcomers, Warrenton. The visiting team jumped on West Pot early, but the good guys fought back from their first deficit of the season and wound up winning 29-19. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT FINISHES SEPTEMBER AT A PERFECT 4-0
Despite a lackluster first half that yielded only an unconverted try, West Potomac put things together in the second 40 to top Pax River 24-0. "Alabama" Sam received Man of the Match Honors for exceptional offensive and defensive play in his first match at #8. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT WINS 85-5 IN THEIR HOME OPENER
The backline had an offensive explosion as West Potomac put up 13 trys to welcome Chambersburg back to the PRU. Bible wore the red jacket for marshalling the backline and personally scoring 30 points (2 trys and 10/13 on conversions). For a full match report click here.
WEST POT GOES 2-0 WITH A WIN OVER USUHS, 72-0
West Pot once again kept the bad guys off the board while racking up 12 trys and picking up a bonus point against USUHS. I think scoring was split evenly between the backs and forwards and "Sexual" Pete Banks got man of the honors even though he had a try stolen out from under him by a sneaky, good for nothing (West Pot) winger. Backs cannot be trusted. For a full match report click here.
WEST POT WINS THEIR SEASON OPENER, 24-0
Despite some sloppy play in the first half, West Potomac was able to shake off the off-season rust and shut out the Washington Renegades in the opening match of their Fall 2007 campaign. There was notable play across the starting fifteen as well as impactful play off the bench, but at the end of it all fullback Brian "Sunshine" Lapato's play stood out and earned him man of the match honors.
